Another JV Hornet win!

Last night HHS JV came out with a victory over Stockbridge. I didn't make it up to the game because I was busy making cheesy potatoes and cake for tonights Coaches shindig. I was too pooped to drive all the way up there after school yesterday too. I guess K3 played well and actually "Lit someone up" (how he phrased it). Unfortunately, the referee called him for unsportsmanlike conduct. Go FIGURE?!

Kitchen and 1st floor bathroom is still not put back together. Hopefully a priority project for this weekend. Konnor and I have soccer at 9 and then K2 is taking Konnor squirrel hunting. This is the reward Konnor wanted for going peacefully to Reading Recovery. Whatever it takes. Well, too many things to get done before lunch is over, so ADIOS and have a great weekend!

I give UP!

The whole computer thing is just CRAZY!! I don't know if I can continue to keep up from school but I will give it a shot. The kitchen is still incomplete (and we were supposed to have the Coaches Party this friday) NOT gonna happen. The bathroom still has no toilet and no sink. Konnor thinks it's easier to pee outside than to walk upstairs.....some of us aren't sooo lucky?! I'm hoping today everthing will get finished. We will be hosting the party from Anne Lemerands home (I had to ask humbly this morning). Kirk and I were working until 10:30 everynight after football and quite frankly it is getting a little much.

Konnor had another hard start to his day. He is not excited about having Reading Recovery tutoring before school. Actually, I don't think it is the time but the idea that he still has to work so hard to do something that comes easily to others. I can't see myself fighting the battle too much longer. I can't start my day that STRESSED out.

I went back to the orthopedic surgeon yesterday because my entire left knee turned purple than black on Friday. He said I just broke a blood vessel and that it didn't relate to the other knee issue. Thank God! I don't have time for a scope right now. He also gave me a shot in the wrist that has been killing me lately. Too many push-ups for this OLD lady!!

Week long wrap-up!

I thought that it might be a good idea if I gave you a week long wrap-up while I had access to my computer at school. Yes, it is 2:30 on a Saturday and the PE teacher is at school. Hmmmmm....bet that doesn't happen just anywhere?! I just brought the two tanks of bugs into the 5th grade teacher that has a love for "SCIENCE". He didn't even hesitate when I said I needed to find places for my bugs. Now I will be able to visit my buggy friends daily. I moved the Momma hamster and her "oh to adorable" babies to Gwen's room. She has been watching over them at DMS for me and said they could take up residence there. Jen took "Harry" the rabbit to the humane society.....supposively....however, her husband mentioned something about delicious rabbit stew last night at the game. Hmmmm???? So all of my science teacher traces have forever vanished from the walls of DMS. I did however leave my lesson plan book (being the sweetheart that I am) because Kraig is in her class this year.

The kitchen.....well, my house is still a shambles but I have beautiful wood floors and tile. He is coming on Monday to finish up. I have no way to cook, so I will try to take this as a little blessing and relax about the mess. Yeah, right, like that can happen. I am going home today to CLEAN what I can. Kirk is at Home Depot buying new baseboards....hopefully we will be able to put the kitchen back tonight.

Football.....well, another awesome win last night. We had the 2 and 3 string playing by the 2nd qtr. The final score was 55-6, but it could have been more like 155-6 if we would have kept the first string in. Well, the house isn't getting cleaned this way. Hope you have a great weekend. K:)

Hornets STING Columbia Central

Corny I know, but when the score is 41-14 there isn't really anyway to say it nicely. Finally the boys got a taste of victory. They are now 2-3. I suppose their record could be worse. The held their own last night. Kirk3 did a good job and was really excited about their win.

Kitchen update.....well last night, at 10 PM when we got home, we had to take the island, refrig, and stove out of the kitchen. Not to mention all of the pantry stuff and rugs....didn't know so much was in that pantry. Kirk and I finally finished around midnight. Needless to say the butts are draggin' this morning. Well, suppose I'd better go.

Cramping my style!!

I tell you what....this computer thing is sure cramping my style. I finally get hooked on posting and then I can't even post. This is CRAP!!! Speaking of crap....yesterday morning started out a bit stressful for me. Jackie sent me an email that stated the new science teacher had some requests about the animals. Hmmmm? Not how to take care of them, but that I needed to remove them ASAP. Yes, you read right! A science room without cool animals is not a science room. So I frantically asked around to find new "homes" for all of the tanks that I spent my time and money getting around. Granted I wasn't asked to get that room ready but I figured it would make the replacements job alot easier. I guess I was wrong again. Oh, she also said I needed to turn in my keys....granted there are a lot of people with keys to DMS that aren't even employees of the district. To end the email she said oh thanks again for all the time you put into landscaping and keep in touch. Can you believe the nerve......needless to say I was smoking for most of the AM. I emailed her back and said that my schedule was a little tight (football games Wed-thurs-friday but that I would get them out this weekend. So how was your day?

YEP, you guessed it!

Yep, the computer has gone on another vacation. Trust me this is becoming quite a problem on the homefront. So I guess if I'm going to keep in touch, I will need to blog from work. Hence the picture of my mom in the golf cart last winter. I didn't have anything else in my picture file here.

Football continues to control our lives. Kraig has his first scrimmage in albion tomorrow, Thursday Kirk has a game at Columbia Central and Friday night V is at home. Kirk said that he wished this craziness would end. I informed him that we still had a loooooong haul. Well, better get to work.

Shhhh....don't tell the computer....I'm in!

I can't even begin to tell you how frustrating this whole computer thing is becoming! Not only is the one at home giving us fits, the school email has been touch and go lately too. How do they (the computer germs) expect me to keep "connected" to my friends and family?! For crying out loud, I had to finally break down and call Beth today to ask a time sensitive question. I couldn't take the chance of it not working.

This is a really fuzzy picture of Konnor and the other waterboys from Friday night. They have quite a CREW working to keep the players hydrated. This was the belly bumping that was going on after the Hornets won another game. Hope your week is going by quickly. The only thing I focus on is the weekends now so that I can get caught up.

Konnor is a BIG 2nd grader now!

I thought I had uploaded this one too! Konnor is having a great start to 2nd grade. He claims that it is pretty easy. I hope he continues feeling this way. He starts Reading Recovery tutoring tomorrow morning before school. We are going to reaccess his levels after a month of tutoring. We are hoping to give him a little extra confidence.

Well, I'm off to study Science with Kirk.

PS I traded in the 6 yucky mice (kinda creepy looking) for 1 Black Bear hamster (not so scary looking). Today when I went to Davis to clean cages I had quite a interesting surprise.....yes, you guessed it....I know have 13 hamsters. YIPEE! NOT!!

Keep your fingers CROSSED!!

I feel like I am being very sneaky right now! So far so good. I picked the computer up on Friday from the shop for the 2nd time and it still was crashing until Kirk updated Yahoo last night. So far it has cooperated nicely. The first week of school went well. The only problem was that the 4 days felt like 24. I am physically hurting....mentally tired....and feeling a little overwhelmed switching from summer schedule to fall. You forget how hard it is to get laundry done, clean the house, and make meals when you work all day. I know some of my friends do this all the time, but WOW it really takes a lot out of you.

Kirk's team finally won this week against Leslie. It was more like a tennis match then a football game. One team would score....then the other team would score. The final quarter was the deciding factor. 58-46.

The Varsity continues to do well (3-0) and will play Albion this week away. They are a little worried about Albion's "speed".

Konnor and I are on the 3rd week of soccer. We haven't won any games yet, but have improved with each week. Hopefully we will be pulling ahead soon.

Where to freakin' begin?!

I do apologize for any trouble my lack of posting and reading blogs. I really have been tormented with the lack of being "connected" to all of my friends and family. The computer is about 98% better and my email password works occassionally at school. So.....where to begin.....

Well, we are now less than 24 hours away from starting with students. Last week was an emotional rollercoaster for me! I sat through 1 whole day of back to school meetings and inservice as a DMS employee. At 2:45, Steve (the guy that was taking my PE position) retired and I was offered my old job at 2:47. Now granted there was 15 minutes left in the day.....but it was an offer I couldn't pass up. I need to be on Konnor's schedule and I need to be MOM after work not science lady. I had DMS room ready to go and all of my animals in place. I even did Open House for Jackie that night. Anyways to make a very emotional story short....I'm back at Gier and Mauck and very HAPPY about it! However, my office/desk is in the outside shed behind the school. No heat, electricity, and internet hook up. I am hoping to take care of that small problem today. We had to add 2 classrooms this year at Gier, so my old office is now the teacher's lounge.

We have also finished the first 2 weeks of football. The JV is struggling, but Kirk3 is doing a great job at center and defensive tackle. The V is awesome!! They have beaten Hudson and Hamilton and are 2-0. This weeks starts conference play at LESLIE Friday night. Well, I need to get the house picked up, my equipment closet in order, backpacks together, etc. ........So I'll close for now. Glad to back and "connected"!
