Extra time...

Well, when I said I could use another day at home to get some more things done, I did not intend on getting that time by staying home with a sick kid. Konnor has been coughing his poor head off for two nights now. Last night was the worst. I don't think he got much sleep at all, needless to say neither did we. I will take him into the doctors today and hope that he can find a "cure all". So I guess I will at least get a little extra time to do some of those things that didn't get done this weekend. I guess I need to get thinking about starting xmas shopping, decorating, sending out cards, etc. I find that I have to take one day at a time, or I literally go nuts. Not really that great for those plan ahead people in the family, but what can I say?! Well, gotta' get a move on if I'm going to get anything done before Konnor wakes up. KP

Not enough time!

There never seems to be enough time in these long weekends to get everything done that needs to be done. How frustrating?! I look back at the weekend and think of all the things that "did" get done and then think of the billions of things still left to be done. Never ending, I guess....We just took the youngest boys to Harry Potter. It was good, but extremely long....Konnor must have been in 250 different positions, laps, and seats. He announced quite loudly "that's finally done" when the credits started to play. A little embarrassing but I guess that's how he truly felt. Kirk 3 opted out of seeing it a second time. He had gone last Friday with his buddies. Well, won't get those last few things done if I continue this, so I'll close for now. Hope you had a great Thanksgiving and there aren't that many weeks before xmas break. YEAH!! KP

Spring cleaning in November???

I don't know exactly how it started, but Kirk2 has been spring cleaning every closet and drawer in the house today. I think he must have his season mixed up. You would think the snow on the ground and the ungodly cold weather would tip him off, but I guess not. The rest of us have been busy moving out of his way, in hopes that he doesn't throw us away too. KP

Happy Thanksgiving!

I can't believe we are more than half way through November already. I guess the saying "times flies when your having fun" must hold true. Actually, I think it is that we are so busy we really don't know if we are coming or going. Kirk3 had a great game again last night against Leslie. It is amazing that a team can beat you and then you turn around a few weeks later and beat them. Kraig and Konnor are on their way home from sledding. Konnor was chomping at the bit to get the snowmobile out too, but dad said later. He loves the snow, but I think he might be the only one in the family who does. Kraig is doing a little better today after having his tooth exposed yesterday. I don't think he really knew what to expect. Today was absolutely a nightmare for the PE teacher. Thanksgiving concerts in the AM and PM sent me trucking to find a place to get the kids moving. We ended up doing step aerobics to Slim Goodbody (some of you are too young to know who that is) in the music room. I finally got my gym back at 2:50. What a relief?!! Well, we are off to grandma's and grandpa's for Thanksgiving dinner. I am so lucky to have supportive parents. I don't have to bring a thing, just show up. What a deal! Hopefully someday I will be able to return the favor. I really hope we don't get snowed in here because Kirk2 says he is fixing his wild turkey if we can't make it out. Something I hope I never to experience. He brought home deer meat tonight, so I'm off to clean out the freezer to make room. Maybe I can pitch the turkey! KP

Finally got it!!

I have been trying to update this for 3 days now and finally I figured it out (with a little help). Kirk3 played basketball against Leslie tonight at home. Our 8th grade team beat them this time. Must be that home court advantage. Kraig had oral surgery today and is not feeling that great yet. I can't tell if its the medicine that is bringing him down or that this was really his first experience with real "pain". He is getting lots of TLC but it doesn't seem to be working. He is also very worried about the assignments he missed today and the fact that he hasn't felt like doing any homework today. Hopefully the movies and motrin will kick in soon and give him some relief. Kirk2 is celebrating his 38th birthday today at the Varsity football banquet tonight. Not a lot of presents but plenty of birthday desserts. Looking forward to 1 more day of work and the long weekend. Have a great Thanksgiving. KP

Give it a try?!

I thought that I would follow Beth's lead and attempt to keep everyone up to speed on the Putnam schedule. It has been enjoyable for me to keep in contact this way. I hope you enjoy it too. Konnor and his dad got a doe on Friday night. It was Konnor's first "kill". I'm not really sure he thought it was as awesome as he anticipated. We kept the heart so we could dissect it this week. Mom always looks for ways to plug science. This is her contribution. Konnor and mom were sick over the weekend, but are starting to feel like theirselves again. Kirk3 continues to practice and play 8th grade basketball. He is finally learning how to use his size. He has a game at Western on Monday and a game at Home on Tuesday. Kraig has just finished up his football season and is now anxiously awaiting basketball to start. He will play on the recreation department team again this year. Konnor, well, he played soccer this fall and again in the spring. He spends most of his free time outside riding his dirt bike, shooting his bow or bb gun, helping Mike rake leaves, etc. The kid is never sitting idle that's for sure. Well, I guess this enough for now. Later.
