Must be getting better.....

what's left of the ballon arrangement that Grandma and Grandpa Putnam sent.

....because he sure is in a rotten mood today! Of course he would have to pick a day where grandma and everyone else was gone. In case you haven't heard....which I know you all have....Konnor had an emergency appendectomy on Monday evening. I took him in because he wasn't feeling great and I didn't want to send him to Aunt Kim's for 3 days (because I had to go back to work) if he wasn't feeling great....Dr. Herbener sent us to meet with the surgeon in ER immediately. After countless hours of blood tests, cat scans, etc he was prepped for surgery at 5:30. Everything went well....stayed in the hospital until Tuesday night....and is now well on his way to recovery. Unfortunately, he is not one to sit around and he is starting to go a little stir crazy......as is his MOTHER! Hopefully he will be able to start school with everyone else on Tuesday.

Friday - Sunday

I can't believe how quickly time flies when you are too busy to even sit down?! Friday we were

supposed to be hosting the first after the game Coaches Party but due to the storm the game was played on Saturday. Luckily I had staggered the food preparation and could shove things in the refrigerator. Saturday went by quickly as I got ready for the party....so busy and preoccupied that I forgot the camera for the game.....so pissed at myself. The game was extremely stressful and definitely gave you an adrenaline rush. K3 held his own out there with those "BIG" boys and did a great job. Luckily we won at the very end of the game 34-20 (it had been tied at 20-20 for a long time) Sunday we headed to cottage for the final move. The boys and K2 helped grandpa move out the last of the stuff and took down the TV antennae. The power, gas, and water get shut off on Tuesday and then the wrecking crew starts. The cottage looked kind of helpless with all it's stuff out of it. I know the new cottage will rock though.

What can I say....

Kirk 2 and K3 at Fort Custer.
well, it is definitely football season at the Putnam household. The guys had practice for at least

6 hours everyday this week. Tomorrow will be the big opener at home against Dexter. Hopefully the thunder and lightning will stay away long enough. It has been really hard for K3 to have his dad constantly drilling him about football...before practice....during practice...after practice....during dinner.....before bed....you name it they are talking football. He is working extremely hard to step it up for Varsity this year. He really is doing a nice job!

Family fun at the cottage....

Kraig and Blake having a great time tubing!

well, at least for part of the family that is. We met at the cottage yesterday for our farewell to the old and in with the new. My parents start disassembling the OLD cottage for their NEW cottage/house that they will begin building soon. It is both exciting and sad. This cottage was originally my Grandma and Grandpa Warren's cottage. I have been going to this cottage since I was born and have a lot of fond family memories of times spent at the cottage. Some of my favorite memories are camping in the side yard, being drug around on my butt learning to ski, countless card games played on the porch, watching for shooting stars during the campfires, re-roofing the cottage, the smell of pancakes in the morning, and listening to the morning doves as the fog lifts off the lake in the morning. I hope that the NEW cottage can live up to the old memories and provide some fun new memories as my kids and their kids grow up there.

Let the season BEGIN!!

Saturday morning was the annual Blue/Gold scrimmage for HHS. Kirk did a nice job (did I mention he and Mike C are the only Sophmores on the Varsity this year). It is really cool that he has the size and skill needed to play with the "big" boys. He is number 40 in these pics (Center) and Defensive tackle.

Time to say.....

good-bye and good luck to my 3 little cottontail friends. On Wednesday their eyes finally opened and they discovered what was attached to the other end of that bottle. Needless to say, they were a little less than excited. I could tell it was going to be time to say good-bye after that. I started giving them some rabbit food and clover. This morning I took them back to the fench row weeds and wished them well. I know in my heart that they will probably be eaten by tonight, but at least I gave them a fair shake at life. There is no way they could have survived in the flower bed with two cats licking their lips.

What a grueling 5 days.....

I am proud to say that everyone survived a grueling 5 days at football camp! It was touch and go with all the heat and humidity but we just kept plugging along. Normally this is the week that Grandma and Grandpa watch Kraig and Konnor so I can have some "alone" time. This year I had anything BUT that. A group of about 5 core parents feed 100 meals 3 times a day for 5 days.....1500 meals that have to be ready to go at the drop of a hat or "football" in this case. I don't think anyone went away hungry and the food was very delicious. Unfortuntately I don't care to cook for the next 6 months. We were very lucky that our mess hall had airconditioning because there wasn't a meal that we had sweat pouring down our bodies. With all those grills and ovens going the kitchen was unbearable at times.

I need a BABY FIX!!

As I was sitting in the ob/gyn office tuesday I was thinking that I really needed a baby fix! There were all these little girl babies in little fufu dresses coming in making cute little noises.....not a good place for me to sit very long! Little did I know that the baby fix would come from a bunch of wild baby bunnies that my cats found in my flower bed. Who in there right mind would have babies when there are 2 dogs and 2 cats around. I told my mom that Mrs. Rabbit must have had an emergency delivery or something. So added to my already crazy PAC camp, lip surgery, football camp food preparations.....I am now bottle feeding 3 babies (yesterday there were 4 until Hunter took one out to play). The other "baby" in our life is growing like a weed. Squirt (AKA Sport or Ryder) is full of mischief and always getting into some sort of trouble. Hunter still hasn't adjusted very well. Chloe LOVES him though.
