Happy as a CLAM!!

Konnor's first rabbit! (I think you will appreciate the Kitty pictures once you see todays. Hope they aren't 1st for long)

Konnor and Drew gutting the poor thing!
Digging the final dissecting phase!

"Happy as a CLAM!" That was my 6 AM quote after I found out that we didn't have school today! Tuesday's are my best day to have off because that means no more kindergarten for another week. I know that sounds horrible but really have you spent 40 minutes trying to corale 25 kindergarteners into learning locomotor skill benchmarks. It isn't much fun!! So here is the day after 6 AM recapped....woke up and weighed 1.5 lbs more than the last two weeks....(i'm sure you can figure out why)....decided to sit in the College sauna before weighing in...missed my 10% key chain award that I have been breaking my back to make by .8lbs.....yes, you read correctly not even one pound! I know there is always next week but I really wanted it today! I came home and started hussling around to clean.....do laundry....and then sent K2 to WalMart to buy a new carpet cleaner. Now all of the couches and carpets on the first floor are CLEAN!!

Konnor and his friend Drew rode dirt bikes and hunted all day. K2 decided to take them rabbit hunting before his dentist appointment. The good news is that Konnor got 1.....the bad news....I got to help Drew and Konnor gut this rabbit while K2 went to the dentist. How wonderful?!

NOT!! I didn't enjoy the gutting or dismembering of the poor bunny fufu....but got into the dissection mode once we brought it into the kitchen.

Too busy to Blog!

Konnor in motion last weekend.
Winter Wonderland??? Look how cool the frozen snow chunks look!

So I know it sounds like a lame excuse but I really have been too busy to blog. If I'm not at a basketball game, running someone to baseball practice, or attending other kid functions then I am cleaning, doing laundry, or making food. Seriously takes all of my energy to keep up with everyone's schedule and needs. Konnor had a soccer tourney last weekend. K3 had 2 games this week. Kraig preformed at the State Honors Choir at DeVos Hall yesterday. We have only the cool shots of the frozen river....and one of the pre-show set up....because they wouldn't let you take pictures during the performance and they actually had picture police roaming the isles. We will be getting a CD/DVD in the near future so I will share pictures then.

Inside vs. Outside KITTY!

Hey, what are you doing inside?

Why are your ears back? Don't you love me anymore?

Hey, your not being very friendly at all!

Hunter has been staying mostly inside since that last cold snap/snowstorm we had a few weeks back. I think she would be very happy to change her address permently to inside the house. Squirt, however, is still strictly outside. Yesterday morning I was sitting at the table enjoying my oatmeal and a book when they started this hilarious "play/fight" through the sliding glass door. I will have to say it was very amusing and I don't think that Squirt actually got the fact that she was not HAPPY to see him.

Lordy, lordy looks who's 40 plus 1!

So the rhyme doesn't really fit when your older than 40 but you can't blame me for trying. Today was a pretty typical day around the Putnam homestead. Laundry, groceries, sorting closets, homework, making dinner (steak, baked potato, salad---the reason the kitchen looks like a hurricane hit behind me!), etc. The plus of today was the chocolate cake with chocolate frosting. YUMMY!!

Waking up in a snowglobe!

What a welcomed surprise this morning when we looked out the front door. Old man winter was definitely doing his job last night. Why am I so excited about the snow? Because it means the kids can get out of the house to snowmobile and sled....yeah, not stuck in the house with nothing to do. K2 and I got up and dug out before the boys even woke up. Ok, granted it was 12:15 when we came in but still was nice. k3 and Kraig both had parties to go to last night. Konnor was at his friend Drew's house so all was quiet in our NEST! K2 and I watched a movie and I fell asleep (don't worry I woke up at 11 PM) and watched the New Year come in. Then K2 had to go retrieve all the boys in that terrible snowstorm while I held down the fort or should I say couch. Today we had horsdovers (sp) and watched football. What a layed back day!
